Suga Shrine, which is considered the first shrine in Japan. 

Yaekaki Shrine, known as the place associated with match-making. 

Susa Shrine is said to be the place where Susanoo ended his life. 

Tamasakuyu Shrine, known for its wishing and fulfilment stones.

The many temples and shrines that have been handed down from ancient times to the present day show that Shimane has been surrounded by rich nature and has been a source of high-quality timber since the time of its birth.

2. About the felling site

The following is an overview of the site where the cedar trees were felled this time.

Location: 734 Oro, Sada-cho, Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture

Age of forest: 60 years old

Area worked: 25 ha

Period: 1 Mar 2023 - 3 Mar 2024

Other: due to the large diameter of the timber, manual sawing was carried out using chainsaws.
